Christmas 2025 Popup

Christmas Popup at Lilydale Marketplace

I have now had several successful popup’s at Lilydale Marketplace – three for the week preceding Mother’s Day and last year we had our first Christmas popup 🎄.

It’s safe to say, all have been very successful, with most stallholders making their rent back, and some having their sales expectations exceeded by so much, I received messages such as “holy shite” “this is nuts” and “I hope you have booked this for next year”. In fact, sales last Christmas for Evelyn’s Place increased by 500% on the year before.  We were all blown away!

Well, I’m happy to report, we will be returning to Lilydale Marketplace to popup in the same successful spot as last year for the two weeks before Christmas (10th – 24th Dec).

I’m so pumped and cannot wait!  See below for more information and to submit your application and shelf preferences.  As always, if you have any questions, please get in touch.

Warmest,
Alison 💛

Where are we at for Christmas this year?

I have secured the fantastic location we had last Christmas and Mother’s Day, which is at the gateway of the food court, outside Big W and next to Monty’s Cafe.

Why is this location is so good?

  • First of all, we are a popup.  We are front and centre in the way of people – they can’t help but stop and see what we have on offer!
  • Big W is a big draw card for locals at Christmas time, not just for gifts, but for the Christmas essentials so people will be heading there during this time and will see us on the way.
  • People like food.  They will see us when getting some at The Food Court.
  • People like Monty’s Cafe.  Monty works there every day and is lovely – and his team make a great coffee and provide great service.  It’s the most popular cafe at Lilydale Marketplace and has an open seating area where people stare at our stalls whilst enjoying their food and bevvies (this is confirmed with several customers sharing anecdotes last Christmas such as: “My wife was looking at those candles there and I reckon she’d like one”).

Why do I hold these popups?

My husband has asked this on several occasions too! Yes, it’s a bit of work and planning, but it’s worth it! Why?

  • Evelyn’s Place is a 7 minute drive up the hill from Lilydale.  Many people who frequent Lilydale Marketplace don’t know that they have a beautiful store that is minutes away and that they can buy gifts and home essentials from. It’s a great advertisement for the store with a sample of the stallholders in it. I always get comments from customers in store that they saw us at Lilydale.
  • Extra sales mean more money in your pocket.  Christmas is a peak sales period, and the popup is a great way to get in front of even more customers and get our beautiful products sold with sales often making up for the slower months of the year.
  • And, the biggest and bestest one for my stallholders – Brand Exposure
    – The Rule of 7: This is a marketing principle that suggests that a consumer needs to encounter your brand at least 7 times before they begin to take action or make a purchase. While this number can vary, it reflects the idea that repetition builds familiarity and trust.
    – Engagement and Trust: It’s not just about how many times people see your brand, but also about how they see it. Repeated exposure through multiple touchpoints, including social media, email marketing, content, and even word-of-mouth, helps to build trust and familiarity, which are critical for engagement.  It’s not uncommon for me to hear in store that someone has seen a stallholder’s products on Instagram and didn’t know they could find them in store. Now they can find them at Lilydale Marketplace too!

So, how do I get in?

I have more stallholders at Evelyn’s Place than I do shelves at the popup, so not all applicants will be successful.  I will also apply the same rule for the popup as I have in store – limited products in each category (for example, candles and jewellery are very popular).
Remote stallholders are eligible to apply, however the set up and pack down fees will apply (see below).

If you would like to participate, then register below with your preference of shelf/shelves.

A few things to note:

  • IMPORTANT: If you register, you are committing to participating and agree to the dates and fees as specified below and in the registration form.
  • You may not receive your preference of shelf/shelves but will have the opportunity to accept or decline the shelf/shelves offered.
  • Applications close 15th October and all applicants will be notified by 20th October.
  • Successful applicants will be required to pay their fees by no later than Friday 31st October.

Stall Fees

A reminder that the popup will run for 14 days (10th – 24th December). The fees below are for the full 14 days:

Top – $280
Upper – $200
Lower – $160
Bottom – $140

You may request multiple shelves and a 20% discount will apply if your request is accepted.  Multi-shelf discount will be as follows (no other combinations will be on offer)

Top & Upper – $384
Lower & Bottom – $240
Upper & Lower – $288
Full Bay – $640

If you are unable to set up or pack up, I can do this for you, but this will incur a $25 fee for each.  You will also need to ensure your stock and display items arrive at Evelyn’s Place in the week before the popup, and that everything is collected from Evelyn’s Place in the week after we re-open at the start of January.

And lastly….

I will require stallholder to take shifts at the popup as I like to have at least 2 people on at all times.  Most of the time I will be on site at the popup, and all stallholders taking shifts at the popup will receive training if they haven’t completed shifts in store before.
Popup shifts will be half days from 9.30 -1.30 and 1pm – 5pm.  The half hour cross over allows for a smooth transition. Or you can choose to take both the morning and evening shifts to complete the full day.
Anyone who volunteers will receive $50 for each shift (so $100 for a full day) Depending on uptake, allocations of shifts will not be guaranteed so do not rely on this credit if registering for a stall/s.

Applications are now open!

Make sure you have read all of the information above, then go for gold and apply using the form below.

Of course, if you have any questions, please get in touch – 💛 Alison
